I’m a big believer in keeping cats indoors. They will live longer, healthier lives. PERIOD. There are many who believe that cats cannot be happy if they are deprived of the outdoors – that is simply untrue. That said, there are definitely simple things you can do to enrich their lives and maximize their Mojo while keeping them safely inside. I just rescued my first cat. I bought a pet stroller and take her for daily walks. Shes very secure and can see all around. She seems to really love it. The rest of the time, I play with her at least 3 times a day and have window bird feeders in 3 windows. I have cat trees for her. She spends her day going room to room to “stalk her prey.”
My kitten loves when I slide Just Try Cat Grass Treats across the floor. She chases them like crazy. Cheap and easy entertainment.
I probably can’t provide my cat with all these things because I live with family, but I will do my best to provide my cat with most of these things.
In my hometown we have coyotes (which have killed many dogs and cats), mountain lions, owls that could take a kitten, really-cold winters and lots of cars on the roads. Oh, and neighbors’ dogs too.
Cats should be indoors 100% of the time. Theuy are innate hunters and they kill little animals. Duh!
